Illustrator: Dennis Adams and Others. foreword by author, glossary, author's note, list of illustrations. Photographic endpapers, Newcastle Harbour, 1906. The text is illustrated with either black and white photography or coloured illustrations by Dennis Adams and other maritime artists. Bone / gray mottled boards gilt coloured titles on front panel and spine. Illustrated dustwrapper, with white coloured titles on front panel and on spine. The experiences of Captain James Gaby went to sea in 1910 on what turned out to be the last years of sea trade under the great wooden sailing ships. Minor rubbing of the book corners and back strip edges. A little age toning of the text block edges and pages. Creasing of the dustwrapper edges and rubbing of the panels.
