New York: The Grolier Club, 1973. First edition. Hardcover. Near fine. Oblong folio. 160pp. Dark gray cloth with the title on the spine in orange and a rendering of Mayan glyphs on the upper board. Extensively illustrated. A near fine copy.


A catalogue of selections from the Grolier Club exhibit of 1971, which presented a large number of Mayan objects ranging from the Late Formative Period to the Post-Conquest Period. Examples include inscriptions on stone; polychrome plates; painted, incised and carved vases; pottery flasks, boxes and figurines; bone, stucco and shell objects; and manuscripts each of which is painted or inscribed with a hieroglyphic text.
