Good. Philadelphia: Lindsay & Blakiston (C. Sherman, printer), 1849. 12mo. [4 (blank)], vi, (13)156 pp. First edition. 1/4" loss at tail of spine; almost 3/4" loss at crown of spine. Gilt title bright on spine. Foxing throughout. Also contains "The Misanthrope Reclaimed, a dramatic poem" on pp. (55)108. Publisher's blind-stamped, textured black cloth, embossed floral design; binding worn with cloth over spine completely chipped away, exposing underlying cardboard, and some cloth loss over corners and edges.
