New York: The Derrydale Press, 1938. First edition of the author's collection of hunting reminiscences and tales of horsemanship. Octavo, original cloth with labels to the spine and front panel lettered in gilt, illustrated by Smithson Broadhead. One of 950 numbered copies, this is number 814. In near fine condition. Founded in 1927 by Princeton University graduate Eugene V. Connett III, The Derrydale Press published several series of outdoor books for North American audiences during the first half of the 20th century. It was the only publishing house in the world devoted exclusively to sporting books. Brown's The Medchester Club contains a collection of fox-hunting stories and tales of horsemanship including The Somersault Pony and The Horsiness of Hutch.
