About This Item
Paris: Isidore Liseux, 1888. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Blue cloth boards with paper spine label. Light wear to edges of boards, owner's bookplate to front endpaper. Pages lightly toned but clean and the binding is solid. An uncommon 19th century edition of the scandalous novel, usually considered the first original English pornographic novel. The author was forced to renounce it in court, thus allowing pirated editions to proliferate.
