Bristol: Printed for the author by John Matthew Gutch 1821. First edition. Two volumes. 4to. 271x215mm. pp 4, v-xx, 21-535, [1bl], 7, [3]; 601, [3]. With engraved frontispieces, engraved half-title to volume one. Thirty four engraved plates (including one coloured city plan), lacking one (portrait of Capt Goodere). Numerous woodcuts in the text. Full calf, spine lettered in gilt, all edges marbled. Slight rubbing to extremities. Internally very good. Overall a smart copy of an interesting local history.
