New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1905. Reprint . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Edited by R.W. Phipps. 4 volumes complete as issued. Set overall is in GOOD condition as follows: VOL. 1 - Exterior is in VG condition with rubbing to edges, bumping to spine ends & corners, light scuffing to boards else bright. Interior is in G condition with illustrated frontis plate detached, but present. 1st signature of pages a bit loose. Offsetting from newsprint to pages 72-73, last pages were previously uncut, but former owner was a bit crude separating them. Text & pages still intact, but fore edge a bit ragged. VOL. 2 - Exterior is in VG condition with rubbing to edges, bumping to spine ends & corners, light scuffing to boards else bright. Interior is in VG condition with light foxing to first few pages else text is clean and sturdy. Includes fold-out in the rear. VOL. 3 - Exterior is in VG condition with rubbing to edges, bumping to spine ends & corners, light scuffing to boards else bright. Interior is in G condition with light foxing to first few pages, a few uncut pages, Pages 5-8 previously uncut, former owner a bit rough separating the pages has caused page 5 to tear a bit and fore edge to be ragged. VOL. 4 - Exterior is in VG condition with rubbing to edges, bumping to spine ends & corners, light scuffing to boards else bright. Interior is in VG condition with light foxing to first few pages, a few uncut page else bright and sturdy text. In summary: The set's exterior is in VG condition with some rubbing & bumping but still bright. The set's interior is generally clean & bright with a few condition issues. Text is complete as issued.
