Slight rubbing to lower spine end, else a clean, bright copy in original color pictorial dust jacket (lower spine end minutely rubbed). Signed by the author, two-time Carnagie Medalist Margaret Mahy. Scarce signed.
First edition. On the fifth anniversary of his older sister's death, 19-year-old Jonny Dart, troubled by feelings of guilt and an imperfect memory of the event, goes in search of the only other witness to the fatal accident. Through a chance meeting with Sophie, an elderly woman with Alzheimer's disease, Jonny finally comes to terms with his past, and through taking care of her, begins to take responsibility for himself as well.
