From the Foreword:
If this book is found to be entertaining by the youthful reader, only part of the authors' goal will have been reached. It is our hope that we have presented the story of The Mikado in such a clear manner that it will be understood readily, and that the joy and elation created by the opera itself will be reflected and will serve to instill a deeper love for the Gilbert and Sullivan operas. To do this we have followed closely the original work and have reproduced a good number of the lyrics that Sullivan has set uo such captivating music."
Condition:
Light stains to the front and back covers; cloth tears at corner tips; tiny cloth tear on spine. Tight binding. No loose pages. No cracks. The text pages are in great condition - clean with no writing or tears and only an occasional ink smudge and light stain.
