G�ttingen: Steidl, 2008. Cloth. Near Fine. FIRST EDITION. Four volumes in original grey slipcase. 8vos, burgeoning with b/w photographs of Kroenig; short essays to the rear of vols. II, III & IV. Navy blue cloth, spines lettered in silver, different b/w paper portrait labels pasted to upper boards. Grey endpapers. Blue ribbon markers. Small mark to upper board of vol. II; fraying to ribbon ends. Slipcase lettered and illustrated in black: a little soiled and scored. Near fine/ very good. A sharp set of Lagerfeld's longitudinal portrait series in celebration of "All American" model, Brad Kroenig. "In a way Lagerfeld's project is like the epic work of the 19th century photographers of the American West, people such as Carleton Watkins or Timothy O'Sullivan who set out to record the American landscape, before industrialization changed it forever" (Ingrid Sischy)
