With 400 b&w and color illustrations (some fold-out) of the paintings, sculptures and buildings designed by Michelangelo. Color images tipped onto leaves. --- In woven brown and off-white cloth with Michelangelo's stone mason's mark to cover in brown, spine titling also in brown. Published by Phaidon Publishers of London and distributed by Garden City Books of New York. Jacket with close-up of the Pietà. --- A well preserved copy: tightly-bound and unmarked, though with mild age-toning to leaves. Fair-only jacket with a large open front panel tear, other small chips and small tears but mostly intact and wrapped in new removable archival mylar protector.
