This 24/7 rescue and advice service is operated entirely by volunteers who rehabilitate and release sick, injured and orphaned wildlife and educate the community, at all levels, about the need to protect native animals and preserve their habitats.Co-authors Georgia and Michael raised over $2000 from sales of their first book "Mikey the Powerful Owlet: Saving Byles Creek Valley", which was donated to Bird Life Australia in memory of Kristen Hardy, a pioneer of the Powerful Owl Project."We'd like to crack that total with Mikey's sequel, not only to support Sydney Wildlife, but to educate people and politicians on the importance of saving the local environment and the amazing wildlife that inhabits it," Ms Cameron said.Mr Bianchino who hosts The Half Hour Hoot with Ms Cameron on local community radio station Triple H 100.1FM released his latest 18-track music CD "Mikey's Hollow" in conjunction with the book.
