Washington, DC: Government Printing Office, 1888. Hardcover. Small 4to. Original black cloth with gilt spine lettering. vii, 832pp. Numerous tables. Very good. Faint edgewear. Tight, quite nice first edition of the fifth volume of this United States Geological Survey (Department of the Interior) series begun in 1882, accomplished under director John Wesley Powell. Difficult to find in such tight, handleable condition.
