About This Item

Pittsburgh, PA: Jones & Laughlin Steel Co, 1907. Sixteenth Edition. Full Leather. Very Good binding/Fair dust jacket. A miniature pocket book of Useful Information, published by the Jones & Laughlin Steel Company. A true miniature, it is small enough to fit in a vest pocket yet exhaustively comprehensive, with everything a mechanic or engineer might desire; it includes charts of safe load weights for different steel beams, illustrations of various pulley types, how to estimate elevation by boiling water, and even emergency first aid (if it can be found in time within the 492 pages). Remnants of old scotch tape repair to the edges of the worn slipcase. Flexible, oblong, leather binding, with surface loss to the spine and rubbing to the gilt edges of the textblock. Lettering and decoration stamped in gilt on the front and in blind on the rear. 4.5 x 7.5 cm. Very Good binding / Fair dust jacket.
