First Edition, 1970 Memorial Edition, SIGNED by author in blue ink on first free page, 940 pages including index, 459 illustrations plus 1,043 footnotes, An illustrated composition and documentary compilation with emphasis on the spirit and history of mining, detailed history of European Mining, Book is near Fine, light wear to bottom edge, also page edges a tad dusty, publishers very clean dark blue cloth with bright white title to spine and front board, No previous owner bookplate or writing, Tight and square with sharp points. Jacket is Very Good, original price intact, rubbing to panels and edges, some edge tears and light wear. Shows nicely in a new mylar sleeve. Clean and most presentable SIGNED First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
