First edition. 8vo; 28pp; pictorial boards, both front and rear feature a vignette of kitten heads on a red background; b&w pictorial endpapers of kittens; gift inscription dated October, 1936 on verso ffep; color pictorial vignette on half-title; color pictorial fp and vignette on title page; 14 full-page color illustrations, two are double; scuffing to edges and spine; unclipped color pictorial dust jacket, soiling and chipping of edges and sunning of spine; very good in a very good minus dj. The story of a little boy named Richard and his mittened-paw kitten named Mittens. Mittens is lost and then found in a heart-warming ending.
