New York: Gnome Press, 1952. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Good/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition first printing, the boards are reasonably clean and sharp, with rubbing to corners. The spine is has some light marks and the ends are bumped and lightly rubbed. The text block edges are toned with slightly dusty top edge. There is are two bookseller small bookseller stamps and previous booksellers neat pencil prices to the FEP. The pages are quite crisp with the first six leaves having a fingernail sized stain to the bottom corners, and there is a light damp stain to the bottom edge of the pages from page 70 onwards. Feels well bound and lightly read. Good condition. The jacket has historic tape to the top and bottom edges, going on to the flaps, re-enforced at the spine ends. The spine also has a tear just above the title that goes on to the front panel. There is losses to the foot of the spine and front joint. The rear white panel has feint pen notation, a couple of tears with associated creasing, and some light grubbiness. Jacket grades as fair. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A good copy, of this novel by van Vogt.
