E J Larby London undated c1912 Vg (clean green cloth with gilt titles on spine and white titles and four-colour diagram on front board, one small split at top of spine less than half inch and one tiny nick on spine, lower corners lightly rubbed, neat (?pencil) line under the title on front board else boards clean and bright, front hinge cracked but contents remaining firm and tight, few isolated spots outside page edges, light browning free endpapers and scattered spotting prelims and last page, one plate detached and loose within the book else contents clean and bright) 12mo 219pp. Second edition. Ex library plate front fixed endpaper and minimal library markings prelims. Advertisements endpapers and reverse of preface page. Introduction by Jarvis Kenrick. B/w frontis portrait of Walter Jones Whitmore. Illustrated with 63 three and four colour diagrams. Apart from the one detached plate, a very good clean tight copy of a scarce item.
