About This Item

W. & G. Foyle, London, first edition, 1931. Edition limited to 1000 numbered copies. Cloth, gilt cover title, edges untrimmed, 8vo,. xvii, 93 pp. Approximately 100 entries. An early attempt to provide bibliographical information for the collectors of "modern firsts", and still of interest for the lesser authors for whom no comprehensive bibliography exists. With an interesting introductory essay by William Foyle, who finds it necessary to defend himself against the charge of revealing trade secrets to the public. Copy No. 849. Top edge slightly duststained, otherwise Very Good in somewhat browned and slightly edgeworn dustwrapper.

About Wykeham Books

We specialize chiefly in "books about books", the emphasis being on historical aspects of book collecting, production and distribution. A particular speciality is in bibliographies, of all subjects of interest to collectors, dealers and scholars, with several thousand bibliography titles in stock. Other strengths include extensive holdings of auction catalogues for book sales and a good selction of reference material on and facsimiles of illuminated manuscripts. We also have a special interest in rare material by or about Rudyard Kipling.
