Large Quarto. viii, 166pp. Original green decorative embossed cloth with gilt lettering, publisher's device and ruling on cover, gilt lettering and publisher's device on spine; in original color photo-illustrated brown wraps, black lettering on spine. Color frontispiece with tissue guard. Illustrated title page.

With an introduction by Percy S. Cane. Profusely illustrated special issue of "The Studio" introducing British, American, French, German, Austrian, Italian, Swedish, Danish and Japanese gardens, including eight reproductions of color offset photographs, as well as numerous images in photogravures and b/w. Contains some architectural drawings and plans and includes designs by Peter Behrens and the Olmsted Brothers. With a list of architects, designers and owners at front.

Dust jacket badly chipped along the spine and the top edge of the front cover. Binding with light wear along edges. Endpapers and first few pages with light foxing, light foxing to edges. Previous owner's name inked to front free endpaper. Dust jacket in overall fair, binding in very good, interior in good+, photographic plates in very good condition.
