London: Nelson, 1864. Hard Cover. (London: T Nelson and Sons 1864). An early edition. An extensive guide to all areas of cookery, offering recipes for fish, meat, vegetables, puddings, and more. Illustrated with eight plates. Written anonymously, only stated as "By a Lady" to the title page. Part of Nelson's Household Library. 396 pages (including index at the rear). Black and white illustrations. Publisher's grey-green textured cloth with gilt stamping to the front board and spine and blind-stamped borders to both the front and back boards. Pale yellow end-papers. VG indeed with slightly pushed spine tips. Firm hinges; clean interior. A nice copy. Laid in is price list from Burgon & Co.. Photographs/scans available upon request.
