Features hundreds of images of pictures and engravings, with dozens of colour plates reproduced from La Mode, Gallery of Fashion and Hogarth amongst others. Complete First Edition in three volumes, the first detailing 1790 to 1817, the second 1818-1842 and the third 1843 to 1874. With an introduction by Grace Rhys. Splendid half leather binding done by Bumpus. Blue polished calf. All edges gilt. Raised bands and gilt decoration to spine. 8vo. (220x160mm) [xvi] 180+164+157pp. Armorial bookplate of Harold H. Wernher to each volume. Occasional nicks to leather and rubbing to corners. Abrasion to band on volume one. Contents clean and tight. Good/very good.
