Very Good. 7 1/2 x 10 1/2 in. 280 pp. Full green calf with a subtle moire pattern, gilt decorations, spine with raised bands and harp and gilt decorations, gilt text edges. Condition is VERY GOOD ; corners and edges worn, calf has some surface wear and light scrapes. Spine darlened with some surface cracking and titles unreadable on the label. Binding tight and text unmarked, some mild foxing. Poet.

London: Longman, Brown, Green, Longmans, & Roberts, 1850. New edition. Hardcover. g to vg. Quarto (10 x 7 1/2"). IV, 280pp. Original gilt-stamped olive morocco, with gold lettering and tooling to spine. Raised bands. Dentelles. All paper edges gilt. Engraved frontispiece and additional title. Originally published in installments in 1808, "Irish Melodies" is Thomas Moore's masterpiece. It contains 130 of his poems set to music composed or arranged by both Moore and Sir John Stevenson. Includes the following popular song: "The Minstrel Boy", "The Last Rose of Summer", "Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms" and "Oft in the Stilly Night". Each page of this magnificent edition is splendidly decorated and illustrated by Irish illustrator Daniel Maclise (1806-1870). Moderate rubbing along edges of binding. Spine slightly age-toned. Some foxing to very first and very last leaves. Binding in overall good to good+, interior in very good condition.
