This set of four books was privately printed for members of London's Casanova Society in 1923. The Casanova Society's brief existence lasted from 1922 - 1926, and this was their second publication.This is a Limited Edition. Sets numbered 1 to 750 were of sixteen volumes, and sets numbered 751 to 2250 were of four volumes. The set being offered for sale here is Set #844, complete in four volumes. The set is in good condition with some rubbing at the edges, corners and hinges, and occasional spotting. Each volume is numbered - 844 - which shows a complete original set. Each of the volumes is signed on the title page by Ellsworth Fleming of the Casanova Society, and each is also signed by Fleming again on the following page which describes the publication of the volumes. This set will provide many long evenings of enjoyable reading, and will make a fine addition to your library of classic literature. Paris: F. Bechet and A. Egron, 1817. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Octavos. xxx, 403, [2]; 394, [2] pages. Hardcovers bound in dark green half leather with marbled paper-covered boards. The bindings show some wear but are quite sound with sturdy hinges. The rear hinge on Volume 1 is scuffed with the untreated leather exposed. There is a white scuff mark on the front cover of Volume 1 at the bottom left corner. Bindings tight. Marbled endpapers. The text is a little toned and has some occasional foxing, but overall the text appears clean. Half title to Volume 1 appears to be a little loose. SIGNED Bechet (one of the publishers) on the verso of the title page to authenticate this edition as not being a pirated edition. Text is in French. A translation of the title into English is, "The Colonies and the Present Revolution of America.

III has a small stain on the front fly leaf and a small stain at the bottom of the page that extends through page 18. Rubbing to all corners edges.
