New York: E.P.Dutton & Co., 1934. First US Edition Thus/Various Printings. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. A lovely early Everyman's Library set (not exactly matching) of this classic in scarce jackets. Volume 1 is an 11th printing from 1930 in teal cloth blindstamped on front board and with gilt to type and ornamentation on spine. Top page ends tinted teal as well. Sharp corners, clean interior and tight binding - only some light foxing to front page ends and a few tiny smudges to bottom page ends. Jacket mentions over 850 titles and as some small chips mostly to spine ends, corners, and top of rear flap crease with puncture. Some edgewear/nicks and a few small stains to bottom edges and rear flap crease and scuffs to front panel - Near Fine in Good Jacket. Volume 2 is a 12th printing from 1934 in teal cloth and brick red tinted top page ends with blindstamp to front board and with gilt to type on spine. Light foxing to page ends, and a few small spots to bottom of front board. Corners sharp, interior clean and binding solid. Jacket mentions over 900 volumes and has only a tiny bit of rubbing to heel and one corner, small splash stain to front panel, spot to spine and a tiny bit of foxing to edge near rear flap crease. Volumes 45 & 46 in Everyman's Library. Very Good in Very Good Jacket.
