About This Item

London: Methuen & Co. Ltd, 1966. First English language edition. Very Good/very good. This work tries to show that mosaic art has its own laws, which are the result of its singular technique and special decorative functions. The first part of the book written by L'Orange, deals with the rise od mosaic art as a medium for monumental decoration and describes the changes made during the late antiquity period through to the middle ages. The second part of the book written by Nordhagen deals mainly with the technical aspects of mosaic art. Green cloth binding with gold lettering to spine.slight bumping on bottom corners and staining on front cover. Nice tight binding. Dust jacket tears to top and bottom front which have been taped, shelf wear commensurate with age.Oversize may require adjustment to shipping costs.Translated by Ann E. Keep First Edition AB5
