About This Item
Manchester, Charles H Barber, 1905 and 1911. Two volumes, pp. vi, 190 and 257, well illustrated and with a large folding map at the end of each volume. Original cloth, top edges gilt. Bindings a bit darkened and with a few marks, but very sound.. Internally, some foxing owing to the "woolly" nature of the paper, some darkening of the pages, but again very sound. One of the maps with a short repaired tear. Both volumes have presentation inscriptions from the author to his daughter Mrs James Wood. Loosely inserted is The Memorial Service to John Ward, May 1916. Very scarce as a matching pair of presentation copies.
