The new edition, second impression. Two volumes. In the publisher's original cloth. Lacking dust wrappers.Illustrated with colour frontispieces with 873 figures over one hundred and fifty-nine plates, both colour and monochrome, to 'Series Two', and 670 figures over one hundred and fifty-nine plates. Collated complete. This set features the first and second series of Richard South's study of British moths, part of the 'Wayside and Woodland' series. In the publisher's original cloth. Lacking dust wrappers. Externally smart to series two and generally smart to series one with fading to the spines and bumping to the extremities to both, with loss to the head of the spine, and closed tears to the tail to 'series one' and very small closed tears to the head and the tail of the spine to 'Series Two'. Bookplate from Brentwood School Library to the front pastedowns with their stamps to the front free endpapers and label remnants to the rear to 'Series One'. Rear hinge starting to 'Series Two' and front starting to 'Series One'. Internally firmly bound with lightly age toned and clean pages. Good
