Augmenting the authoritative text are hundreds of illustrations and photographs by the author, a fine survey of the serious collector of gun books. Serious research provides major and minor phases of firearms development and parallel developments in ammunition and its discharge, plus mini-biographies of firearms makers, company and person. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound in hardcover format, generally clean, lightly toned at worst, minimal rubbing to extremities. Bound handsomely in blue, heavy, almost sailcloth, with bright and distinct gilt lettering and designs (muzzle flashes) to front cover. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, moderately worn panels, chipping along top edge, spine head, protected by a plastic coat. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography. xvi [1], 2-823 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
