Clean and tight interior = 1st published i 1948 - this is 3rd printing stated. Inscribed on half title page by the author to her daughter, Jeanne. This is the story of 10 year old Billy Evans and his fox terrier Lucky. Billy has few possessions and no real friends - his mother is dead and his father has disappeared. But when they meet up with a friendly tramp named Mike, things start to change for Billy and Lucky. 191 pages. This very prolific writer did not sign very many of her works..
