Considerable bumps & rubs to edges and corners, some shelf wear to boards. Spine strip badly worn and faded. ACC* Jacket condition: No dust jacket. ND* Contents condition: PRIVATE COPY NOT EX-LIBRARY. Brightly coloured illustrated end-paprs. Clean, crisp, and tight with light reading wear, a few light marks to text, no tanning, top & fore edges slightly aged. A little musty. VG.* Illustrations: Brightly coloured illustrated throughout (somewhat lurid).* Pages: 65 pp. text.* Description: Fourteen short stories adapted by Enid Blyton from the original Uncle Remus stories published in the United States in the second half of the 19th century. They mostly have a moral tone or are in the form of a parable. The rabbit is always portrayed as being brighter than the cunning old fox. This copy shows considerable wear and is slightly musty but is complete and the text is in very good condition.* A NEAR GD copy with some age & wear.*
Synopsis
'I have just buried my boy, my poor handsome boy of whom I was so proud, and my heart is broken. It is very hard having only one son to lose him thus, but God's will be done. Who am I that I should complain? The great wheel of Fate rolls on like a Juggernaut, and crushes us all in turn, some soon, some late it does not matter when, in the end, it crushes us all. We do not prostrate ourselves before it like the poor Indians; we fly hither and thither we cry for mercy; but it is of no use, the black Fate thunders on and in its season reduces us to powder.
