Original publisher's blind-ruled green cloth, lettered in gilt and black. A trifle rubbed. Armorial bookplate of Henry Courtney Brocklehurst to FEP, occasional light spotting. A crisp copy of the first edition of an account of the Polish explorer Ferdynand Antoni Ossendowski's (1876-1945) ten years' travels in south-western Siberia and Outer Manchuria to study mineral deposits. Henry Courtney Brocklehurst (1888-1942) British Army officer (killed in action in Burma during the Second World War) and brother of Sir Philip Lee Brocklehurst (1887-1975), Antarctica explorer and member of Shackleton's Nimrod Expedition. .
