Boards sharp and clean, title gilt perfect. Text block clean, with white edges. The pages are crisp and unblemished. Feels lightly read. Sharp spine ends. Near fine condition. Jacket likewise near fine with some minor toning to top edge, on front and rear panels. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A detailed biography of Simenon which does make some attempt at neutrality, but Bresler's apology for Simenon's anti-semitism is comical. I'm also unenthusiastic about Bresler's reaction to Simenon's attitude towards women, or more precisely, to his lack of a reaction. Bresler makes some worthwhile critical comments.
