New York: Brewer & Warren. Very Good- in Good dust jacket. 1930. Hardcover. Stated second printing, December 1970. The celebrated artist and adventurer Rockwell Kent set out on a voyage to Greenland with two companions in a small sailboat. Along the way, they encountered a storm and were shipwrecked. Kent describes the harrowing events that followed, along with dozens of his fantastic woodcut engraved illustrations, which appear on nearly every other page. Also with 8 full-page Kent woodcuts, which he describes as ". . .less illustrative of the text than supplementary to it." --- In ivory cloth covers with navy blue compass motif and lettering, cover & spine; navy blue topstain. Jacket with similar design, predominately in navy. --- Covers somewhat age-toned, interior clean and unmarked copy but with discoloration to endpapers and a bit of yellowing to leaves. Good only dust jacket with chipping, rubbing and small tears along edges and darkened spine; bears original $3.50 rear flap price and in removable new archival mylar protector.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); xi, 281 pages .
