About This Item

France: Galerie Lelong, 2009. First Edition. Softcover. As New. 4to 11" - 13" tall. Reperes - Cahiers d'art contemporain #143, an As New condition of a fine gallery exhibit catalog. Sterling condition softcover copy, with unfurled tips, tight binding, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear to the glossy illustrated wraps, in gate-fold. From the personal library of the feminist art historian extraordinaire, Dr. Whitney Chadwick, a giant across many fields. Her Wikipedia entry notes that "She works with several mediums which include theater, videos, installations along with mixed media paintings and drawings. The subjects of her creations are deeply influenced by her experience of migration in the aftermath of the partition of India. Subsequently, pressing feminist issues have also become a part of her creative output." She commenced work in 1969 with "Dream Houses," as the youngest and only female participant of the Vision Exchange Workshop (VIEW), "an experimental multi-disciplinary artist workshop in Bombay (Mumbai) by late artist Akbar Padamsee." 59 pp. including a full list exhibitions, and replete withMember, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
