Previous owners name and label on reverse side of first free endpaper. Multi pic endpapers are stuck together along hinge. Title text pages are clean, slightly oxidized. Color illustrated white spine dust jacket is chipped at corners and spine ends, with the words THE PASS- from the title missing at upper spine. Chipping and soil. Lists to the " Clue in the old Stagecoach"on front flyleaf, back flyleaf lists; Vicki Barr series to The Silver Ring Mystery. Rear of dust jacket lists Dana Girls to Mystery of Bamboo Bird. Looks good in protective mylar.

Chipped along outside edges and corners. White spine soil. Looks better in new protective mylar. Lists to the Old Attic on front flyleaf, and to Dana Girls Portrait in the Sand on rear flyleaf. Wartime issue.

Blue tweed cover stock, multipic endpapers. This is an Ex-lib copy, with card pocket & the usual stamps & markings. Generally clean, with the occasional smudge or spot. Rubbing to extremities. NO writing or underlining or highlighting or coloring.The unclipped white spine DJ is Near Fine, having been protected under library mylar all these years! Very good condition in blue covers with orange lettering and an orange silhouette of Nancy looking through a magnifying glass, orange and white illustrated endpapers. (minor shelfwear to the covers).. Early printing. Glossy frontispiece and three glossy internal illustrations by Russell Tandy, in the uncommon original thick blue format. One of the 3 titles written by Walter Karig using the 'house name' of Carolyn Keene (all of the earlier titles had been written by Mildred Wirt Benson, but she refused to accept a reduction in the amount paid per manuscript - from $125 to $75) . This was originally #9 in the series (in 1932) but was issued in a revised edition in 1933 and re-numbered as #10 in the series. 220 pp.

Early printing, very good + blue cloth hardcover with orange letter and nancy illustration to cover shows foxing to page edges, touch of foxing at endpapers, touch of soil to covers and age tanning to pages, in very good + dust jacket (5050 at flap) that shows touch of soil and light edgewear that includes some small closed tears. 220 pages with red top edge and black & white frontispiece and illustrated endpapers in orange. Still a pleasing copy in jacket of this early printing of the 10th installment in the Nancy Drew series that lists other titles to inner flap up to The Quest of the Missing Map and with Judy Bolton titles to rear panel.
