Giglioli. A very scarce first edition of the work. In the publisher's original cloth. With a frontispiece and 41 monochrome plates. Collated complete. This work was written by Constance H. D. Giglioli and discusses the revolution in naples in 1799 and the rise and fall of the Parthenopean republic. The Parthenopean republic was a semi-autonomous republic supported by the French First Republic located with the Kingdom of Naples that only lasted from January 21th to 13th June 1799. In the original publisher's cloth. Externally very smart with the odd light mark to the boards, fading to the spine and bumping to the extremities resulting in light rubbing to the cloth. Offsetting to the end papers with an ink dedication inscription dated 1931 to the front free end paper. Internally firmly bound with bright pages. Scattered spotting throughout, heavier to the front and the rear. Loss to the corner of page 39. Very Good
