London: W. Simpkin and R. Marshall, 1822. First edition. Leather. Good. 8" by 5". None stated . A two volume biography on Napoleon by his surgeon Barry E. O'Meara, bound in half calf. The fourth edition. Two volume complete set. Bound in half calf with marbled paper to the boards. Illustrated with frontispieces and one plate to each volume. Collated complete. This biography of Napoleon was written by Barry E. O'Meara, Napoleon's surgeon who accompanied him to Saint Helena, an Island to which he was exiled by the British. The work provides details on Napoleon's reflections and thoughts during this time. The work also accused Sir Hudson Lowe of mistreating Napoleon. Bound in half calf with marbled paper on the boards. Externally generally smart with rubbing to the boards, joints and extremities, bumping to the extremities of the boards, marks to the boards and spines and fading to the spines. The odd spot and mark to the endpapers with a past owner's name in ink to the front free endpaper and hinges starting to 'Vol II'. Internally generally firmly bound with front blank starting to 'Vol II'. Pages age toned with spotting and occasional marks. Good
