Mr. Ludwig (1881-1948) was a German Jew who emigrated to Switzerland in 1906 and later to the United States. Translated from the German by Eden and Cedar Paul. Indexed. Volume in jacket with silhouette of Napoleon & image of his sword and hat. --- In Toledano spine 8 / red cloth / gilt titling on black spine & cover blocks / black topstain / grey Kent endpapers / jacket style i, verso lists 379 titles in ML catalog. Likely published c.1957-59 (though 1953 publication date appears in book). ML #95.2. --- With spotting to topstain and slightly loosened binding, else a sound, unmarked copy.
