E-155. Very Good. Hardcover. Leather. 4to. Published by Johnson, Fry & Company, New York, 1861. In two volumes , 488 pgs, 470 pgs. Portrait frontispieces, engraved vignette title page. Bound in 3/4 brown leather with matching brown cloth boards with titles present to the spine and front board. Boards have light shelf-wear present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Evert Augustus Duyckinck (pronounced DIE-KINK) (November 23, 1816 August 13, 1878) was an American publisher and biographer. He was associated with the literary side of the Young America movement in New York. Alonzo Chappel (March 1, 1828 December 4, 1887) was an American - Spanish painter, best known for paintings depicting personalities and events from the American Revolution and early 19th-century American history. EB; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
