[c.1825]. 12mo, pp. 180, woodcut frontispiece of lion, other full-page woodcuts of tiger (rather Blakean), elephant, hippopotamus, camelopard [sic], reindeer, and camel, woodcut head-and-tail pieces of elephant and bear, contemporary tree calf, gilt spine, Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge in oval blind on front cover; lacks label, slight wear to joints but a good copy. This is one of a series of educational books for children issued by Wetton in the 1820s. A longer edition (pp. [4], 222)appeared with the following imprint: Printed for the Executrix of the late W. Wetton, Sold by C.F. Cock, 21, Fleet Street, and all booksellers, Whiting, Printer, Beaufort House, Strand (UCLA only in OCLC). A copy of the above printing is in the BL.
