'Translated from the Original Italian, Composed by the Royal Academy of Sciences at Naples, by Order of the King of the Two Sicilies'. First published, in Italian, 1737. Neat, presentable and complete copy of the first English edition. Contemporary half calf, carefully rebacked to style, red morocco spine label, gilt lettered, marbled paper boards, raised bands to spine. Binding is very sound, corners rubbed and bumped. No inscriptions. Text block is generally very clean, some minor spots of foxing here and there. [1], vi, 231 pages, with 2 folding plates & 1 folding table bound in at rear. Approx. size 6.5" by 4".
