Penned anonymously, but probably by a team of natural historians on staff in Britain at the time, but clearly prior to the Darwin/Wallace revolution of two decades later. First Edition was published the prior year. Forty-one illustrations throughout. viii [324 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
