[Edwin Lord] WEEKS. 12mo; ix, 203pp; brown cloth over board with gilt stamped title and stamped decorative cover and spine; decorated endpapers; stamp to free front endpaper indicating the book was a gift from Rotarians sometime during the Eisenhower administration; 10 illustrated plates, two hand-colored of birds; light shelf wear to head and tail of spine and cover corners; very good. This particular book in the series, American Natural History Series is number 3, and dedicated to the "preservation of specimens" or what we know as taxidermy. Taxidermy was not only a business but a hobby during the Victorian era. Includes collection tips, dissection and preservation of birds, eggs, insects, reptiles, fish, shells and mammals.
