About This Item

Duckworth, London, 1924. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 119pp. Red cloth lettered in gold at the spine and with the publisher's black top edge stain. Some partial browning to the free endpapers, and some spotting to the fore- and bottom edge, encroaching a fraction to the margins of occasional leaves. A very good copy in toned, chafed and stained dust wrapper. The third and final collaboration between Conrad and Hueffer, it was first printed over the April and May 1909 issues of the periodical 'The English Review', appearing there under the pseudonym 'Baron Von Aschendorf' but did not appear in bookform until this Duckworth edition of 1924, published shortly after Conrad's death. Harvey A57..
