Chromolithographic frontis. with ad on verso, [3], 152 pp., [2] pp. ads., 9 charts in tipped-in envelope at rear, numerous color plates and b&w illus., early manuscript gift inscription with a flourish in red and black ink at flyleaf. First edition. A "handy and comprehensive volume for the general use of navigators, yachtsmen and others," published by a New Jersey paint company. Includes chromolithograpic paint ads, illustrations from photos and other sources, charts, tables, calendars, Morse codes, flag signals and more. The nine folded nautical charts show the harbors and bays of New York, Long Island Sound, Delaware, Chesapeake, Boston, Gloucester, Portland, ME, Block Island to Currituck and San Francisco.
CONDITION: Good, wear at extremities, damp stains on covers, cocked spine, light soiling to leaves, some toning, Boston Harbor map with some separation at folds, maps otherwise very good.
