About This Item
Los Angeles: Professuinak Business Consultants - Milligan Books, 2002. Second Printing . Trade Paperback. Very Good. 6" x 9. 265 Pages. No defects noted to this bright tight book with flawless interior text pages. In 1990 David Falk, a commissioned lawyer agent employed by Pro-Serve Sports Management company in Richmond Virginia, hijacked Michael Jordan. Over the following year there were numerous instances of agent fraud in professional sports including the National Basketball Association, the National Football League and Major League Baseball. Extensive agent fraud was also found in the film, recording and entertainment industries; the majority of which were against African American artists. Hopefully this book will lead to a congressional investigation of the sordid mess in both professional sports and the accompanying entertainment industries. Sports agents are not required by law to be licensed. Nor are they obligated to provide their clients with annual audited financial statements regarding their investment portfolios. This is an open invitation for white-collar crimes including fraud, embezzlement, commingling of funds, and diversion of assets offshore. Contents in Four Parts: Sports Agents and Lawyers, The NBA's Indentured Servitude of Michael Jordan, A Compendium History of the NBA, and Franchise Histories.
