Good binding. 8vo.; in the publisher's tan buckram with pictorial decorations in blue and white; 273 pages, with 12 illustrations as well as frontispiece "I am F.F.V. to the marrow"; there is a previous owner bookplate as well as name penned on the front endpaper; there is also a penciled name; the binding has silverfishing especially to the spine.~~This is "[a]n F.F.V. novel of the post-war Shenandoah Valley, narrated in the first person. The plot is very complex, full of romance and mystery and ancestral confusions, and hinging on a secret dungeon beneath the big old Virginia house" [Krick 273].~~Uncommon in commerce.~~~ (Krick 273). Good binding.
