About This Item
New York, Boston, Rochester, Louisville, St. Louis: American Sunday-School Union, 1855. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition. Softcover, with stiff paper boards with a brown cloth spine; less common than the hardbound version. Clean text; 96 pages; generally clean, bright, and supple. Maps and diagrams, some hand-colored: the Temples of Solomon and Herod, the form of the Camp of the Tabernacle, plans of Jerusalem, the acts of the Apostles, fold-out maps of the countries mentioned in the Bible and a physical map of Palestine (then also known as Syria), others. The rear cover lists the many publications available from the publisher to aid teachers. There is no publication date; however, this volume builds upon an edition first published in 1840, and bibliographers seem to agree on 1855 as the date. There are previous-owner signatures on the front cover and the FFEP. Minor edgewear and a bump that has resulted in a crease to the front cover. In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Soft Cover. Very Good/No Jacket.
