Charlestown: imprint of Samuel Etheridge, 1802. Book. Illus. by 17 folding maps, as called for. Very Good. Full-Leather. 1st Edition. full tree calf, the original binding with a new spine having elaborate gilt decoration on the spine, and the original dark red title label with gilt lettering. Gilt dentilles along the edges. Title continued "Geographical Dictionary Containing, in Alphabetical Orderr, a Description of All the Countries, Kingdoms, States, Cities, Towns, Principal Rivers, Lakes, Harbours, Mountains, ETC." Designed as a Second Volume, to the American Gazetteer. The title page says 18 maps, but a list of maps at the end has 17 called for. Unpaginated, but more than 500. Only 3 at auction since 1980. An handsome, clean binding for which images are available on request. i.
